Cleaning Pontoon Furniture
I realize we are not talking about brain surgery here but every little bit of information can be of enormous help.
The basic idea for cleaning pontoon furniture is not to wait until it's bad enough to have to resort to using drastic measures. Periodic cleaning can maintain both the appearance and condition of the furniture. When the furniture is allowed to get very dirty or mildew, it becomes difficult to clean. This is when people break out the bleach and start spraying until the bottle is empty. Bleach is not good for the thread or vinyl. It may take off the mildew but it is also slowly destroying the thread and vinyl. The threads break and the vinyl dries out and will eventually begin to crack.
Some furniture manufacturers even have labels on the furniture stating not to use products such as bleach, 409, or ArmorAll.
The furniture manufacturers recommend using a mild soap mixed with water. Because it is not harsh, this is why periodic cleaning is necessary.
