Changing Fence Panels
Anyone who has a pontoon boat for long knows that the fences (thin aluminum skin) become dented or just weather beaten. Some people beat out the dents the best they can and some paint the outside of the fence. Most pontoon boats come with some vinyl decals or striping down the sides. After a period of time, this vinyl tends to crack and peel. This makes the boat look old.
However, these skins can be replaced and the boat will look brand new. An average boat of 20', the cost is about $650 (parts and labor) depending on the fence height. Pontoon manufacturers may offer different colors or textures of skins. Since boat models and styles change every couple of years, finding the exact skins that were on the boat originally will be hard to find.
This is just something else to consider if you plan on restoring your boat.
